COMO TE GUSTA (AS Y' ALL LIKE IT)GREEN ROOM THEATRE"S NEWISH SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL AT THE REVOLUTION WILL BE ASL INTERPRETED ON SATURDAY, APRIL 4TH AT 1:00 PM

TICKETS: AROUND $39. ONTHESTAGE.TICKETS

A compacted, one-hour adaptation of Shakespeare’s As You Like It in Spanish, cowboy English, and – por su puesto – Shakespeare’s original language.

Follow Rosalind as she flees the government of her nasty uncle, who has seized control of the state. Rosalind is exiled with her beloved cousin Celia to the enchanted Desert of Arden. In Arden Desert, they encounter an assortment of vivid characters, including Touchstone, the jester, and the melancholy cowhand Jaques, who expounds one of Shakespeare’s most famous speeches (“All the world’s a stage”). An evil duke, a treacherous brother, a faithful servant, and Shakespeare’s finest gender-bending love affair bring this timeless comedy to life in our local piece of the Sonoran desert.

This stylish, critically acclaimed new musical comedy with a tongue-in-cheek script by Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro (NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT) hits the CVRep stage for a Coachella Valley Premiere. In this wildly inventive and romantic adventure, a sleep-deprived single mom who makes her living as a video game music composer is contacted across space and time, via a crossed connection on her cell phone, by the famous early 20th century polar explorer Ernest Shackleton while he is stranded on an iceberg in the Antarctic in the early 1900s. Inspired by her music, he shares his epic journey with her and, together, they overcome the odds in a timeless, and very funny, musical romance for the ages. This show will transport you on the journey of a lifetime.

FRIDAY, MAY 8, 2026 2:00 PM

Interpreters: Nakia Stuckey and Tom McGillis

ASL Advisor: Vadim Milman

COACHELLA VALLEY REPERTORY presents the WEST COAST PREMIERE of one of the most inventive and endearing shows to come along in years:

ERNEST SHAKELTON LOVES ME, April 22-May 10. It’s an imaginative musical romance that charms audiences with its original score and delightful wit.  In this clever adventure, Kat is a sleep-deprived single mom in the 21st century who makes her living as a video game music composer. She is contacted by Ernest Shackleton, the early 1900s polar explorer who is stranded on an iceberg, via a crossed connection on her cellphone! Inspired by Kat’s music, the famed true-life adventurer shares his epic journey that has life-changing implications for both.

ERNEST SHAKELTON LOVES ME won the 2017 Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best New Musical and was nominated for two Lortel Awards: Outstanding Actor and Outstanding Projection Design.
